They work together to create better communities and help to enrich the lives of their members by giving them something to look forward to. An exciting opportunity exists for an Engagement Officer to join the charity. The postholder will recruit, motivate, and support volunteers as well as identify older people for their activity-based groups across the Southwest. As an engagement officer, they will also raise awareness of their wider services amongst the public, voluntary sector and identify key partners and referral agencies along with instructors and community venues where their groups can take place in the Southwest. They will also contribute to the delivery of the charities objectives by working with referral partners to ensure that older people across Bristol and the Southwest have access to their services. This is a permanent, home-based role in and around Bristol.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills with a proven ability to collaborate with professionals, partners, older people, volunteers and colleagues. You will have an organised and methodical approach to work with strong administrative and IT skills, along with self-motivation. You will also understand, and empathise with, the issues affecting older people who are isolated, and lonely. Experience of developing and launching physical activity groups would be a desirable criteria.
